Looking at this home today, you would never know that the project began as a poorly maintained duplex. Luckily, the homeowners saw past the worn façade and engaged our team to uncover and update the Victorian gem that lay underneath. Taking special care to preserve the historical integrity of the 100-year-old floor plan, we returned the home back to its original glory as a grand, single family home. The project included many renovations, both small and large, including the addition of a a wraparound porch to bring the façade closer to the street, a gable with custom scrollwork to accent the new front door, and a more substantial balustrade. Windows were added to bring in more light and some interior walls were removed to open up the public spaces to accommodate the family’s lifestyle. We helped stylish blogger Erin Hatzis - one half of Suburban Bitches - choose chairs for her new wood and iron dining room table from Restoration Hardware. The silver tabouret chairs she had paired with her old, farmhouse table just weren't working, and Erin needed sorting through the overwhelming number of options available online. This remodel went from a tiny story-and-a-half Cape Cod, to a charming full two-story home. The Master Bathroom has a custom built double vanity with plenty of built-in storage between the sinks and in the recessed medicine cabinet. The walls are done in a Sherwin Williams wallpaper from the Come Home to People's Choice Black & White collection, number 491-2670. A more contemporary pool design with 3 underwater stools, sheer decent from pergola, pergola over kitchen area, 2 bubblers. Though the pool is not centered to the backyard, it is still a functional part that will get a lot of action.

The men’s half bathroom off of Innovation House’s mudroom brings utility up a notch in style. Outfitted with clean-lined plumbing fixtures, vanity cabinetry and accessories by Kohler; sparkling nickel light fixture by Barnlight Electric; and large porcelain wall tiles in a dark grey linen texture finish by Daltile, the space in unabashedly masculine. To soften the space and add a European flare consistent with the home’s estate style grandeur, a graceful wall mounted faucet integrates seamless with the room’s vanity mirror. The homeowner wanted something bold and different for their half bathroom. She loved the idea of painting the walls and trim a deep teal with pops of chartreuse. Chrome fixtures and crystal pendant lights flank the mirror adding glamor to this powder room.

Inspiration for a transitional dark wood floor and brown floor dining room remodel in Chicago with beige walls

This is our Deus™ Everglide barn style slider. This particular shower consists of a single sliding door, a notched stationary panel, and a 90° return panel on a half wall. A Header and u-channel secure the 3/8” clear tempered glass. A matching ladder pull towel bar and handle is displayed perfectly on this enclosure. All of the hardware chosen for this shower is chrome.

This sleek bathroom creates a serene and bright feeling by keeping things simple. The Wetstyle floating vanity is paired with matching wall cabinet and medicine for a simple unified focal point. Simple white subway tiles and trim are paired with Carrara marble mosaic floors for a bright timeless look.

Thse clients came to me for a kitchen refresh. Keeping the existing floor plan but updating as much as possible. After explaining my thoughts, they chose to go with a much larger project. The wall to the garage wash pushed bach 12" to allow for the island to happen. This almost couldn't happen as there is a support post in the garage we had to keep. I designed the last pantry area as on 10" deep, allowing us to conceal that behind the cabinets. Then, we opend up the wall to the dining room to make the rooms one large space. The wall to the family room was also openend up, leaving the half wall to allow for the kitchen eating area. They wanted to incorporate a bar area, without it feeling like a "bar" The fabulous tall custom unit houses their wine collection and then half of the dining room buffet area holds glassware and other bar items. I helped the clients with all of the design choices.We all wanted to keep the space classic, war, functional and with mixed materials. I chose to use the same countertop material for the backsplash, to keep the space feeling as large as possible.

Summary As far as unique outdoor living spaces go, this entire backyard makeover at Manor Country Club in Rockville, Maryland has the bases covered. A flagstone patio, AZEK-covered deck, cedar pergola, and hot tub were added to make this Montgomery County home stand out. The basement was also renovated and given a stone fireplace. Situated on Manor's 18th tee box, the patio and pavilion feature open views, low-maintenance plantings, and all of the amenities one needs for entertaining. The integrated hot tub is integrated into the AZEK decking for easy and safe access. We also paved the driveway and laid stone for the front path.
